Please see below our 2021 'Class' Events. The beauty of this class is that as she rates so well under IRC, we can have a mixture of IRC Events where we 'join in' and extract results, while as the fleet builds we can have more and more class racing.
We will kick 2021 off with 4 established IRC Events, extracting results (RORC VAC, Royal Southern June Regatta, Taittinger RSYC Regatta & Cowes Week) finishing the year off with 2 Class events (The Royal Thames Yacht Club Class Invitational & The Royal Yacht Squadron Cape 31 National Championship).
There will also be a host of other regattas that Cape 31's are encouraged to enter. These include the Warsash Spring Championship Weekends, the Round the Island Race (which the Cape 31 was born to do) and the three remaining Royal Southern Summer Events (May, July & September Regattas).

RORC VICE ADMIRALS CUP REGATTA
With it looking like 'lockdown' is substantially set to ease the previous Monday to VAC, things are looking well and truly set for the 2021 Cape 31 UK Season to kick of with a bang.
ROYAL SOUTHERN JUNE REGATTA
We are back for the 2nd Event in the Royal Southern Summer Series and the 2nd of the Cape 31 UK 2021 Series.
TAITTINGER RSYC REGATTA
An Event that is just as famous for its off the water antics, as well as its great 'Round the Cans' racing in the Western Solent. Taittinger Regatta is set to let the Cape 31 UK Fleet stretch their legs in 2021 and we can't wait to join in the action.
This event needs no introduction and is set to become a regular for the Cape 31's. Blasting around the World renowned Cowes Week Courses on a Cape 31 is sure to create quite a stir and leave crews thirsty for more (and potentially thirsty for some shore based activities).
31st July-6th August
ROYAL THAMES CLASS INVITATIONAL
The Inaugural Royal Thames Class Invitational is set to be a regular on the Solent Calendar. Cape 31's will have their own class start and are set to be joined by the Performance 40's, as well as another high profile class TBA. There are some amazing trophies on offer and we are looking to run a social program that will rival any event.
ROYAL YACHT SQUADRON NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
A Class Nationals run by one of the most prestigious and exclusive Yacht Clubs in the World..... Yes Thank you!!!
2021 Cape 31 UK Encouraged Events
(These Events don't count toward the 2021 Season points, however are highly recommended)
The 2021 Warsash Spring Series will consist of 2 Weekends of action packed racing. These will be called the Warsash Spring Championships and the Cape 31's are encouraged to join in the fun. A Cape 31 has every chance of taking out the overall IRC win.
WARSASH SPRING SERIES
17-18th April & 24-25th April
The annual Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club with its iconic 50 mile course that regularly attracts over 1,400 boats, provides the perfect challenge for the Cape 31. Most UK sailors have epic stories of 'Ripping' down the back of the Island, while the Cape 31 was born to do exactly this!!
ROUND THE ISLAND RACE
The Royal Southern July & September Regattas are highly recommended by Cape 31 UK. Not only are these fantastic events on and off the water, there is also every chance that a Cape 31 will be racing for the overall IRC Summer Series Win.
ROYAL SOUTHERN JULY & SEPTEMBER REGATTAS
10th-11th July & 18th-19th September
Please see below our 2022 Caribbean Cape 31 Class Events which will be open to all Cape 31's from around the World and will be raced under the UK/US Class Rules.
2022 Cape 31 Caribbean Circuit
Antigua will be a 'standalone' class event while the BVI Regatta will have Class Starts, both count towards the Cape 31 Caribbean Championship. The Cannonball Run will be a 'standalone' Class Event while St Maarten and St Thomas although not part of the circuit, are highly recommended and may have class starts.
ANTIGUA CLASS EVENT
A 'standalone' Class Event run by RORC that incorporates 4 Days of windward leeward racing, followed by a 100 mile downwind 'Cannonball Run' to St Maarten, to get you there in time for the highly recommended St Maarten Heineken Regatta. Our US friends will join us after their Southernmost (Key West) Regatta.
THE CANNONBALL RUN
100 miles of pure downwind Caribbean Sailing on Cape 31's from Antigua to St Maarten...... the Inaugural Cape 31 Cannonball Run will be run by RORC and is set to be an absolute belter. The fleet will all be based in the same resort in Maho Bay for the night of the 1st to 'debrief' the days action!!
ST MAARTEN REGATTA
This World Famous Event sponsored by Heineken will see the Cape 31's in action with scope for their own class start. It will not count toward the overall Cape 31 Caribbean Title however it is a highly recommended event that coincides with the inaugural Cape 31 Cannonball Run arriving 2 days before.
ST THOMAS INTERNATIONAL REGATTA
Another highly recommended regatta where the Cape 31's have secured their own class start. It kicks off with the Round the Rocks race, followed by 3 days of partying and amazing round the buoys/rocks racing.
Round the island race, Scrub Island Race & a layday ease you into things before 3 days of intense racing around rocks & islands. This regatta has everything & will form the second & final part of the Cape 31 Caribbean Circuit!!

Cape Town Invitational
You’re Invited! Enjoy a Summer in the South with some of the finest, most exciting one design sailing in the world in a city voted one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Several British Teams competed at the 2019 Invitational and returned to the UK absolutely raving about the Boat and the Event hence, why Cape 31 UK was born.
The Cape 31, a no compromise, one design racing speedster designed by Mark Mills and built locally in Cape Town, South Africa. Usually crewed with 7 people (595 kg max crew weight) and with 12 boats launched, the fleet offers some of the closest, most exciting racing out there. The idea behind the UK Cape 31 is that she competes extremely well on IRC and UK Class Events, however can also easily switch over into 'Cape Town' mode and be shipped south for their fantastic event. For Reference Shipping is around £4000 pounds each way.
The Invitational continues to showcase the South African Ocean Sector and in particular the in-depth industry experience in the boat building and maintenance, mostly in the Western Cape. The objective of the Cape 31 Invitational Regatta is to market Cape 31 globally so that more boats can be sold. Naturally, the more boats that are sold, the more the local industry benefits.
Cape Town is renown for hosting some of the biggest sporting events in the world while being a top tourist destination. With countless activities to be enjoyed in and around the city, it will no doubt be a team favourite and an unforgettable experience both on and off the water.
