With just a few days to go before the start of the 2022 Volvo Cork Week it's shaping up to be an awesome week. With four Irish Cape's and two teams making the journey from the Solent the Cape's will be competing as a class for the first time in Ireland.
The Irish Sailing Association has assigned Cork Week as the Irish Cape 31 National Championship so the pressure is on to take home the double title - Cork Week and Irish National Champion!
David Maguire's Valkyrie and Darren Wright's Adrenaline lined up a few weeks ago at the Howth Wave Regatta but this will be the first big event for Dan O'Grady's Aja. Anthony O'Leary has brought his boat Antix up to Cork having started the season in the Solent.
Joining them will be Michael Wilson and Vince Hayter's Shotgunn and Lance Adam's Katabatic, one of the founding members on the Cape 31's in the Northern Hemisphere.
With a jam packed social programme below, the highlight will be the Mount Gay 1720s and Cape 31 Party on Tuesday night.
Stay tuned through out the week on socials to see how the Cape's are doing! We can't wait to see them out there.
